Teachers have a responsibility to assist the administration in our efforts to properly supervise the campus. Teachers are expected to assist with the supervision of students in the corridors for 5 minutes before the start of the first class, between class changes during the day (except during planning periods when no students are entering the classroom), and for approximately 6 minutes at the end of the school day. If you have students who stay after the time when the bus leaves, it is the responsibility of the teacher to ESCORT the student off campus. Students may not be left in the building unattended. Additionally, teachers will be asked to do campus supervision approximately once a month for a week. If a teacher is absent, they are to ask a colleague to cover their duty.
No group of students is to be left unattended by the teacher, either in the classroom and/or outside the classroom door. Students are not to be directed to stand unsupervised outside a classroom door or told to leave class without a proper pass to a specific location. You are responsible for all students on your roll for the entire class period. If you must leave the area, please ask another adult for help supervising your classroom.
