Activity Status

It is the philosophy of Mack Middle School that all students are held to high academic expectations, and any student that participates in extra-curricular activities at Mack is understood to be a representative of Mack Middle School and its philosophies. Therefore, any membership or participation in a club, sport or any other activity affiliated with Mack Middle School is in addition to acceptable academic performance.

 

In order for a student to participate in extra-curricular activities he/she must fulfill the following criterion:

  1. Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0

  2. No F’s

Creating a Club or Organization

Mack Middle School promotes student involvement in extra-curricular activities in an effort to educate well-rounded individuals with a deep appreciation for interests that may exceed the bounds of school curriculum. Any staff member may create a new club or organization by filling out the form for creating a club and submiting the request to the Dean’s Office for approval.

Fundraising

Fundraising is a great way to involve students in school culture and provide monies for future endeavors. In order to provide the best experience for all of Mack’s organizations, each club or sport wishing to fundraise on campus must complete follow these steps:

  • Complete Fundraising Form and turn in to Dean’s Office

  • Wait for approval for fundraising activity. 

Poster Approval

Through out the school year a club or organization may wish to promote an event through paper fliers posted around campus. Please follow the following procedures before posting fliers on campus.

  • Send a hard copy of intended flier to the Dean’s Office for approval.

  • Make copies of the flier with a stamp of approval from Dean’s Office clearly visible.

  • PLEASE DO NOT ATTATCH FLIERS TO THE WALL WITH STAPLES. USE TAPE.

  • Take down the fliers after the event has passed or the fliers are no longer needed. Your club or organization is responsible for ensuring that fliers do not conflict with Mack’s efforts to maintain a clean learning environment.

Sports – Health Insurance and Physicals

Students that wish to participate in athletic clubs must provide proof of insurance and a doctor’s physical. Blue packets with this information are required for basketball, soccer and cheerleading.  Information and packets can be found in the Dean’s Office.
