Course of Study / Program Expectations
Student Expectations
Grade level teachers will create student expectations that are utilized for the entire grade level department. Each teacher may then add a page of expectations which are pertinent to that teacher’s style, expectations, personal theories, etc. Each student will receive a copy (this can be electronic or paper). It would be a good idea to have a page whereby students and a guardian signs the document,
Curriculum
Teachers will utilize NACS as their primary source for curriculum requirements, and any other sources provided by the district as required. The school will provide resources in the form of Edgenuity, Springboard, in order to help facilitate the delivery of curriculum. It is the expectation that teachers utilize any and all resources in order to fulfill the requirements set forth by the state and district in order that students master the appropriate material at grade level. With the addition of personal computers given to students, it is also expected that teachers utilize Canvas and Edmodo to enhance the digital delivery of curriculum to students. It is not the intent of this administration to remove the ART out of the art of teaching. Teachers are expected to infuse their own style to help students obtain the material at their appropriate level. Additionally, teachers are expected to scaffold lessons in order that students more easily grasp information. It is the expectation that not all learning can take place during the confines of the classroom and at times, teachers might have to meet with students after school to help them understand concepts.
