Attendance Accounting

Teachers are required to take attendance in Infinite Campus during the first ten minutes of every class period using the appropriate Infinite Campus symbols.  Teachers who do not take appropriate attendance are not completing their professional responsibility.  Teachers who fail to take attendance on more than three occasions will be subject to disciplinary action.  Please take attendance every class period.

Tardy Policy

Mack Middle School uses a school-wide tardy policy program.  Teachers are asked to give the first five minutes of their prep periods to help at the tardy table.  Students who do not arrive in the classroom by the bell are to be sent to the tardy table which is located in front of the library.  Students may not be admitted late to a class without either a pass from an adult or a tardy table paper.  Teachers should mark a student tardy in Infinite Campus.  A student’s citizenship grade should reflect an accumulation of tardies.  This policy should be school wide.  

NOTE:  Students who arrive to class within 30 minutes will be considered tardy. If students arrive to class after 30 minutes, mark them absent.

With the use of Infinite Campus, the school will no longer use a Deans’ Addendum to show students who are not in class for various reasons.  It is imperative that teachers look at the attendance area and be certain that students who should not be in class (TEP, SUS, EXP) not be allowed to sit in the classroom.  Please notify the office via the telephone if you have a  question regarding a student who is sitting in your class.  Additionally, if you believe a student has “gone missing” for whatever reason, please notify the main office immediately.
